The Falklands Dispute

Postby Brassed Off on Wed Feb 24, 2010 7:29 pm

With Argentina trying to lay claim yet again to the Falkland Islands, and getting a lot of support from their neighbours within South America & the Caribbean.
Let us hope that our Govt. is taking note of their sympathisers and looking to see if any of them receive aid of any description from the UK.
If they, do then this should be withdrawn from them immediately!
Let them see that to receive cash from us does come with "strings".
A bit of loyalty to the UK, especially when getting handouts from us, is a paramount condition.

See my comments on the notice board, it would appear that our special relationship with US is not so special, we are having soldiers killed weekly in Afganistan in view of the US attitude I believe we should withdraw 8000 troops from this hell hole and send them to the Falklands, insisting that the rest of the UN make up the shortfall.
I am afraid that we will get no favours from Obama, one, he holds a grudge because we where in Kenya and secondly he blames us for the slavery trade.
We do not want to be caught out in the Atlantic and have to send a task force in the way that Maggie Thatcher had to in the 1980's. If we have troops stationed there then there will be no threat.
No one in the world gives a stuff for the UK, therefore we should look after ourselves.
