It is now ten years since T.Blairs govt. gave Wales and Scotland their own "talking shops".
Like a lot of well meaning legislation, a few loose ends still remain.
Yet another layer of govt. was put into place, and was not the finished job.
Those parts of the UK now have two lots of national representation, their "local" assembly members and a Whitehall MP.
Their MP's are then allowed to vote on English only issues at Westminster, whereas English MP's (rightly so ) cannot vote on Scots/Welsh issues at their assemblies !
So they are getting two bites of the cherry whilst the English only get one.
Considering that the MP's whose constituencies are already covered by adequate representation, are therefore part-time in effect, they should be paid on a pro rata basis.
Never mind who is paying for the grandiose schemes that these assemblies are adopting, but that is another matter.
This whole episode is yet another crack in the fabric and unity of the UK.
I wonder what the next one will be ?
