introduction

phone box‘Common Sense Politics’ is a web site dedicated to the people of the UK. Become a member, contribute to the forum, present a united front, tell the politicians enough is enough.  TOGETHER IN NUMBERS WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

WHO'S LISTENING?

ARE YOU WEARY OF. . . BEING IGNORED?

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT. . .  EXCESSIVE TAXATION , GLOBAL WARMING AND THE COST TO THE PUBLIC? THE COLLAPSE OF LAW AND ORDER? GREEDY POLITICIANS? CIVIL RIGHTS? THE NANNY STATE? IMMIGRATION?

. . . AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE FUTURE OF YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.

The dilution of British Values continues day by day, and we believe there is an unspoken majority of British Citizens who have plenty to say but are not being heard by the so called public representatives, they give us only three choices to vote for, and frankly they are all alike, the parties out of power promise the world, and the party in power does not give a damn and certainly does not listen.  We want to appeal to those silent majorities who are frustrated and tired of all of the unfulfilled promises, the corruption, the nanny state. the big brother mentality, and the politicians who only care about lining their pockets.

So we are all flustrated, fed up, exasparated and ready to book our flights to Spain. There is an alternative, if you dont want to join extremist organisations, if you dont have time to organise rallies or collect signatures, what can we do to make ouselves heard, you dont have to belong to a specific political party to make someone listen, PUT YOURSELF FORWARD AS A CANDIDATE for the next elections, get your name on the ballet sheet, give the disatisfied voters another option.

COMMON SENSE POLITICS IS ABOUT THE SILENT AND UNHEARD MAJORITY COMING TOGETHER AS A GROUP TO PUT CANDIDATES IN EVERY CONSTITUENCY  AND PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR CARING PEOPLE TO SHOW OUR POLITICIANS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

This appeal is to the members of the electorate:

This would be  promoted as a referendum, and vote of no confidence in the current parties.

PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES

We would be looking for like minded people from every constituency who would be prepared to put themselves forward as a candidate for ‘Common Sense Politics’. And to give the general public the choice of a further candidate at the ballet box.

There are no funds available for this proposal therefore every one opting to put their names forward would be required to finance their adoption as a candidate, and also their election campaign.

AIMS

This is not all about taking seats in Parliament: But to achieve enough votes to force the Government to take notice. . .

This is not about money: This is about ensuring that MP’s come out of the clouds and listen to the public and act accordingly, and to regain our communities, our pride, our honour, our GREAT Britain.

Why cant we talk about immigration without being labeled racist?

Why cant we discuss benefits fraud without being called fascist?

What are the reasons that so many people are turning to extreme political parties

Our belief is that the political parties are failing us, it requires devotees to toe the party line, for good or ill.

But isn't the modern citizen more sophisticated than that?, is it not possible to believe in the benefits of privatisation and competition, but at the same time advocate public ownership of utilities and transport.

Common sense dictates that very little in politics is black or white.  And if democracy is the best of imperfect systems, surely the strength of a democracy is equal to the strength of the opposition - the body that call government to account.

Party politics certainly fails us in this respect, because the party system requires members to score political points, to follow the manifesto, to keep This eye on their careers.

This web site is advocating a new dimension - a significant group of independent people who can pester those in power to listen and to act on the views of the people they represent. At best our independents would be elected on relatively narrow tickets - perhaps one single policy- saving the local hospital for example?, at worst they would raise issues Government finds uncomfortable, and split the votes of the main parties.

We are not advocating madcap rants at the system - just determined persistent banging on the doors of government.

Common Sense Politics wants to be voice or voices of the silent majority.
